Recently, the Dishui Lake International Software Engineering Institute（DISEI）of East China Normal University（ECNU）, located in the Lin-gang Special Area has welcomed its first batch of students who will embark on a new journey of study in this vibrant and innovative city of the future. On October 24, theFirst Batch of Teachers and Students Settlement Ceremony was held in the lecture hall of the DISEI.
DISEI,with industry academical packs as its carrier, has collaborated with the industry and enterprises to offer both theoretical and practical courses, establishing 10 industry academical packs in the initial stage., In terms of scientific research organization, DISEI anchors the frontier theory according to its own characteristics and the needs of industries in Lin-gang Special Area, and builds one Institute of Advanced Studies, eight engineering and technical laboratories in the first batch. At the ceremony, representatives of the first batch of outstanding teaching and research faculty were formally presented with appointment letters.
The first batch of student internship and practice bases were officially unveiled. The institute partners with 8 enterprises, including ThunderSoft, Longsys, Empyrean , SenseTime, Guan'an Information Technology, Dishui Lake Ai Innovation Port,ZC Technology and QingYing (Shanghai) Intelligent Technology , and has launched the first batch of student internship and practice bases to train high-caliber talents urgently needed by the development of Lin-gang industries.
Academician He Jiufeng and Professor Cao Zhenfu were appointed as the "Qiushi Chair Professor" of DISEI at the ceremony.
Mei Bing, Party Secretary of East China Normal University, He Jifeng, Founding Dean of Software Engineering Institute, Wu Xiaohua, Deputy Director of the Party and Labor Committee of Lingang New Area attended the ceremony.They expressed affirmation and expectations for the first batch of students and teachers .
After the ceremony, the first batch of teachers and students of DISEI participated in the "Liwa AI" Dishui Lake Forum (Lecture 1). Professor Joseph Sifakis, 2007 Turing Award winner, foreign academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences , and honoraray professor of East China Normal University, delivered a report titled "Trends in Systems Engineering with AI".
